About Sonrise Biblical Counseling

The Sonrise Biblical Counseling Ministry (SBCM) is a ministry of the Sonrise Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri. The goal of biblical counseling is to help individuals meet the challenges of life in a way that will please and honor the Lord Jesus Christ and allow them to enjoy fully His love and His plans for their life.

Who Can Come?

Sonrise offers counseling to individuals and couples. You do not need to be a member of Sonrise to receive counseling. What kind of problems does Sonrise handle? Our staff is here to help you with any problems you may be facing, including: marriage problems, addictions, disorders, fear, anger, guilt, parent / child relationships, among others.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost for counseling at Sonrise. Counseling services are provided to our community as a ministry of Sonrise Baptist Church.

Certification:

SBCM is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (www.biblicalcounseling.com) in Louisville, KY.

Biblical Basis:

We believe the Bible provides thorough guidance and instruction for faith and life. Therefore, our counseling is based on scriptural principles rather than those of secular psychology or psychiatry. Neither the biblical counselors nor the counselors-in-training are trained or licensed as psychotherapists or mental health professionals, nor should they be expected to follow the methods of such specialists.

Not Professional Advice:

Some of our counselors may work in professional fields outside the counseling ministry. When serving as counselors within this ministry, however, they do not provide the same kind of professional advice and services that they do when they are hired in their professional capacities. Therefore, if you have significant legal, financial, medical or other technical questions, you should seek advice from an independent professional. Our counselors are happy to cooperate with such advisors and help you to consider their counsel in light of relevant scriptural principles.
